Volunteer Opportunities
The Robin Hood Festival Association truly appreciates the volunteers who generously dedicate time and effort to making the Festival everything it can be.

On-Site Opportunities:
Festival Runners: Perform simple tasks as needed for the Summer and Winter Festivals, ranging from making sure there is ice and water in the coolers at various locations to cleaning tables and providing fill-in help in various areas. This is a great way to help with the Festival and enjoy it too. Just an hour or two of your time will help! Setup/Breakdown: Set up and break down tents, stages, tables, chairs, props, decorations and signage on the Festival grounds. At both the Winter and Summer Festivals. Parade: Help with the Parade route and assist parade participants at both the Summer and Winter Festivals. We need at least 24 people to help with barricade monitoring - only a couple of hours can help. Email us! Beer/Wine/Cider Garden (Summer Festival only): Assist the beer/wine/cider garden with keeping everything running smoothly, helping with entry monitoring, clean-up, etc. Sign up here. Vendor Parking Supervision (Summer Festival only): Sit at the gate to vendor parking to ensure only vendors and authorized individuals are parking there. Souvenirs: (Summer) These positions start at just a couple hours of your time. Sell merchandise at the Souvenir Booth and help with setup. |
Ongoing Opportunities:
Logistics Facilitator: Help the Festival President coordinate detailed logistics such as permitting and power needs, vendor parking (summer only) and various setup requirements. Fundraising Assistance: Help with Grant applications and coming up with ideas to raise funds. Assist with finding new sponsors. Graphic Arts: Assist with signage and other graphic arts needs for the Festival. This is an excellent "in kind sponsorship" opportunity for a Graphic Arts small business or individual seeking to expand and advertise their services. As the Festival grows and some volunteers retire, seriously consider what you might be able to do to assist with Sherwood's signature event. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with wonderful people and develop your skills and creativity. Multiple volunteers have contributed "in kind" skills pivotal to their career/business development due to the size and scope of the Festival. A local radio host recently said "Anyone who talks about Sherwood and doesn't mention the Robin Hood Festival is mistaken. That is the Jewel of the City." It couldn't have been said any better. And remember, the Robin Hood Festival Association is a non-profit organization supporting the entire community. |
