The Sherwood Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting Ceremony ~ A Community Celebration

The Sherwood Holiday Festival is a wonderful annual community celebration.  The 2024 Holiday Festival will take place Saturday, December 7, 2024 (rain or shine) starting at 4 PM (until approximately 6:15 PM), with a parade winding through downtown Sherwood and festivities in Cannery Square Park and Old Town.  Be sure to visit Old Town prior to the parade to enjoy shopping and dining.  The generosity of local sponsors makes the Holiday Festival possible, a gift to the community every year through the efforts of the non-profit Sherwood Robin Hood Festival Association and other local organizations and businesses. The Holiday Festival takes place annually on the first Saturday of December.

Volunteers are ALWAYS welcome for our year-round activities. For the Holiday Festival, we especially welcome any and all volunteers to help with setup and breakdown.

If you would simply like to stop by Cannery Square to help, we will be setting up in Old Town (and having fun decorating) starting at approximately 12:30 PM on the day of the Holiday Festival until about 3 PM. It's wonderful when people spontaneously help us break down the event (starting at about 6:15-6:30 PM) because we all get it done much faster!  Even a few minutes of your time can help!

A special family-oriented annual event Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.  Holiday Festival events begin 4 PM and continue until approximately 6:15 PM.

• Arrive early to enjoy shopping and dining in Old Town Sherwood. The Sherwood Public Library will be open until 6 PM, with treats and activities available to the public. Holiday music will be playing prior to the tree lighting ceremony in Cannery Square Park.
• Community Parade starting at 4 PM, winding from near the Kohl's parking lot (along 12th Street, by Sherwood Boulevard) to Cannery Square Park in Old Town Sherwood. Family friendly entries are invited to participate in the parade.  Click here for parade application, details and rules.  The Sherwood High School Marching Band will be in the parade, along with the Maid Marian Court and other groups.  And of course, Santa!
• Music performed in Cannery Square Park by local school choirs, hosted by the Junior and Senior Maid Marian Court (with a special "sing along" visit from Santa!) - starting approximately 4:20-4:30, after the parade. Enjoy music from the Sherwood High & Middle School, Middleton Elementary, Sherwood Charter School, the Sherwood High School Mixolydians and the St. Francis School choirs. The Sherwood High School Marching Band will also perform when they arrive to Cannery Square. Boy Scout Troop 224 will be on hand to present the flag. 
• Cheer the annual tree lighting in Cannery Square Plaza during the choir performance. The tree lighting normally takes place around 5 to 5:15 PM.
• Bring the kids for a visit to the Santa tent, where they can share their special wishes! Meet Santa's elves too!
• Free Santa surprise bags for the kids (while supplies last) at the Santa tent, with donations from Senestraro Family Orthodontics and Wilson Orthodontics and candy donations received from local organizations and individuals. A Generations Bar and Grill sponsorship is also assisting with Santa bag items.
• Free hot dogs and cookies! Hot dogs will be provided with the help of generous donations from Sherwood Walmart.  A Sherwood Safeway donation will help to provide the cookies.  The Boy Scouts will be cooking hot dogs and Sherwood Rotary will assist in passing out cookies. Hot dogs and cookies provided, while supplies last.
• Free coffee and hot chocolate provided by Sherwood Symposium, while supplies last.
• Stop by the Sherwood Robin Hood Festival Association booth in Cannery Square, where Festival shirts and other items will be for sale.  Information on our annual events and community involvement will be available for those wanting to know more about our all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(4) organization.

Parade starts at 4 PM, as you walk from 12th Street to Cannery Square in Old Town.

All family-friendly entries welcome!  Dress up in your favorite holiday outfits and costumes!  Be creative!

Location

The parade starts at 4 PM on 12th street near the Kohl's parking lot.

The parade ends at Cannery Square Plaza in Old Town Sherwood, where festivities take place after the 4 PM Parade, located at 22560 SW Pine Street.
