A CREATIVE ROBIN HOOD FESTIVAL TRADITION SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2022
If you could live in a castle, what would it be like? Set your imagination free for the Robin Hood Festival castle building contest.
In the past, award-winning castles have been built using checkers, dog biscuits, Monopoly money, cotton balls, seashells, playing cards, Legos, buttons and more! The more creative, the better! Be sure to use heat-resistant materials and avoid anything that could melt, such as chocolate, crayons or marshmallows.
Entries should be mounted on heavy-duty cardboard or lightweight board for ease of handling. The base must not be more than 18 inches by 18 inches, but your castle can soar as high as you can build it. The only catch is that it must freely stand on its own. Toppling towers will be disqualified.
Bring your castle creation to Veterans’ Memorial Park in Old Town Sherwood on Saturday, July 16, 2022 between 7 AM and 9 AM. No pre-registration is required.
Castles will be judged after the parade and will be on display all day. The Maid Marian Court will announce the winners on the Family Stage. Castle entries must be picked up by 5 PM.
