The 70th annual International Archery Match between Sherwood, Oregon and Nottingham,
England was held on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20. This one-of-a-kind competition was
originated by the Sherwood Robin Hood Festival Association in 1956. The traveling Silver Bowl
Trophy was retired this year after obtaining permission from the clubs representing Sherwood
and Nottingham. A Silver Bowl Plaque is the traveling trophy beginning in 2025. Sherwood
won the 2025 competition with a score of 12,585 to Nottingham’s score of 12,468. Sherwood
has won the competition since 1991.

Join us for the 71st Annual International Archery Tournament, a celebrated tradition between Sherwood, Oregon, and Nottingham, England. First established in 1956, this event is proudly hosted by the Sylvan Archers in Sherwood. The Summer 2026 tournament will take place on July 18-19, tentatively at Sherwood High School (18800 SW Haide Road - JV Baseball Field; follow signs).

In February 1956, the President of the Robin Hood Festival Association in Sherwood, Oregon, issued an archery challenge to Nottingham, England. Sherwood, symbolizing their bond, sent 50 redwood oak trees to Nottingham as a living memorial. The challenge was accepted, and the first tournament was held in July 1956, featuring a double American 810 round, adhering to F.I.T.A. equipment rules. The Sherwood Robin Hood Festival Association also donated a silver Tiffany bowl trophy, engraved by the renowned master engraver, Mr. Stefans Bercs.
Over the years, the tournament evolved:

- 1980s: Introduced the double 900 round and the four-person Compound team.
- 1990s: Expanded to an eight-person Compound team, started the four-person Longbow team, and renewed interest in the Junior four-person team.
- 2013: Added four-member Master Recurve, Master Compound, and Master Longbow divisions.
- 2019: Introduced four-member Barebow and Master Barebow divisions.
